Funny: Greg Chappell obstructs throw, with a smile!

Greg Chappell was on 97 on his way to a match winning unbeaten 138 and the man of the match award when he had a brain explosion. Fortunately for him it did not cost him his wicket as Ian Smith and the other Kiwi's took the incident in a light hearted manner choosing not to appeal.

Yet another sign of mental detoriation from Chappell which eventually led to the infamous underarm ball later on in the season.

Benson & Hedges ODi No 3 Aus v NZ SCG, Nov 1980.

Very very surprised that the Kiwis did not appeal. Pretty sure if this happened now, and with a key player on 97, then any team would be appealing for obstruction. In the context of this game, Chappell's wicket would have been huge.

That was funny. What was Chappell thinking?
