India cruise past Bangladesh after Gill century: 2025 CT No 2 BAN v IND(Dubai)

Opener Shubman Gill scored a superb century as India opened their Champions Trophy campaign with a six-wicket win over Bangladesh in Dubai.

The Tigers wobbled early losing 5 wickets for 35. They made a respectable 228 all out on the back of Towhid Hridoy's splendid 100 and Jaker Ali's 68 as they established a record sixth-wicket stand of 154.Hridoy brought up his maiden ODI century from 114 balls before he was the last man out with two balls of the innings remaining. Mohammed Shami took 5-35.

In reply, Gill batted through the innings and finished on 101 from 129 balls as India cruised to victory with 3.3 overs to spare.

India 231 for 4 (Gill 101*, Rahul 41*, Rishad 2-38) beat Bangladesh 228 (Hridoy 100, Jaker 68, Shami 5-53) by six wickets.
