Ponting & Johnson see Australia home: ICC Champions Trophy (Jborg)

Skipper Ricky Ponting hit 79 before his side slumped to 171-7 in the 40th over.

Mitchell Johnson then provided a late spark with an unbeaten 73 from 47 balls 3 sixers 8 fours as Australia got to 275-8 to beat West Indies by 50 runs. Andre Fletcher 54 and Travis Dowlin 55 gave the Windies some hope but they finished on 225-9 with Dale Richards unable to bat.
