NZ scrape home in thriller after Malinga scare: 2013 CT#4 SRL v NZL (Cardiff)

New Zealand scraped home by one wicket in a thrilling low-scoring match against Sri Lanka.

They needed five to win with their last pair at the wicket when Malinga (4-34) began his 10th and final over to Tim Southee which he survived. Earlier, SL were dismissed for just 138 in 37.5 overs, the lowest total set in eight previous efforts at the ground.

New Zealand 139 for 9 (N McCullum 32, Malinga 4-34) beat Sri Lanka 138 (Sangakkara 68, McClenaghan 4-43, Mills 2-14) by 1 wicket.
