Kiwis take 1-0 after rain hit win: 1st T20 (Dominica)

New Zealand relied on their two most experienced batsmen to defeat the West Indies by 12 runs on the Duckworth/Lewis scoring method to take a 1-0 lead in the two-match series. The Windies looked on track for a big score after an innings of 52 off 39 balls by Andre Fletcher but Tim Southee took two for 20 in his four overs to halt the early momentum. New Zealand 117 for 4 (McCullum 40, Sammy 3-22) beat West Indies 132 for 8 in 18 overs (Fletcher 52, Southee 2-20) by 12 runs on D/L method. July 2014
