Ashwin Saved India The Blushes: Sunil Gavaskar

Ravichandran Ashwin struck together a crucial partnership with wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha to help India post 488 in the first innings, allowing England a lead of only 49 runs.

Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar said that had it not been for Ashwin, England's lead at the end of Day 4 could well have been above 250 and not the 163 runs currently.
