Proteas under pressure after Lakmal burst: 1st Test, Day 1 (Port Elizabeth)

Fast bowler Suranga Lakmal took four wickets to dent South Africa and restrict them to 267-6.

Openers Stephen Cook and Dean Elgar put on 104 to lay a strong platform but were dismissed in quick succession. JP Duminy's aggressive 63 steadied the innings but left-arm spinner Rangana Herath and Lakmal struck late in the day to edge the tourists ahead.

South Africa 267 for 6 (Duminy 63, Cook 59, Lakmal 4-62) v Sri Lanka.
