Joe Root hits epic 184 in first Test as skipper (Lords)

26 year old Joe Root hit a spectacular 184 not out in his first outing as skipper to rescue England against South Africa.

Engalnd were 76 for four with seamer Vernon Philander taking three wickets.

Thanks to Root, England had recovered to 357 for five at stumps. Root was supported by Ben Stokes (56) and Moeen Ali (61 not out) in successive century stands.
