Kohli, Mukund extend Indian dominance: 1st Test, Day 3 (Galle)

Skipper Kohli hit an unbeaten 76 and opener Mukund (81) put on 133 for the 3rd wicket to stretch India's lead to 498 before rain halted play.

Earlier, Sri Lanka's overnight pair of Angelo Mathews and Dilruwan Perera added 51 runs off 88 balls. Mathews went for 83 after a loose stroke.

Perera was stranded on 92 after a clatter of quick wickets.

India 600 and 189/3 (Abhinav Mukund 81, Virat Kohli 76*; Danushka Gunathilaka 1/15) lead Sri Lanka 291 (Dilruwan Perera 92*, Angelo Mathews 83; Ravindra Jadeja 3/67) by 498 runs.
