Ashwin strikes tighten Indian grip: 2nd Test, Day 2 (SSC)

Allrounder Ravichandran Ashwin claimed two early Sri Lankan wickets to put India on top after the visitors posted 622-9 declared.

Resuming on 344 for three, India lost Pujara (133) after adding just six runs to his tally, but Ashwin, Saha and Jadeja struck fifties to boost India's score.

Sri Lanka 50 for 2 (Mendis 16*, Chandimal 8*, Ashwin 2-38) trail India 622 for 9 dec (Pujara 133, Rahane 132, Jadeja 70*, Saha 67, Rahul 57, Ashwin 54, Herath 4-154) by 572 runs.
