England on top after maiden Malan century: 3rd Test, Day 1 (Perth)

Dawid Malan struck his maiden Test century to rescue England's Ashes defence after they slipped to 131-4 after lunch.

Opener Mark Stoneman made 56 before being controversially given out via DRS.

Malan stroked an unbeaten 110, sharing a stand of 174 with Jonny Bairstow (75 not out) to blunt the Australian pace attack.

England 4 for 305 (Malan 110*, Bairstow 75*, Stoneman 56) v Australia.

Dec 2017.
