Pradeep revives Sri Lanka after stunning collapse: 2019 WC #7 (Cardiff)

Paceman Nuwan Pradeep starred with the ball as Sri Lanka fought back to crush Afghanistan's hopes of a memorable World Cup victory in a rain affected match.

Afghanistan slumped to 57 for five before captain Gulbadin Naib (23) and Najibullah Zadran (43) put on a sixth-wicket stand of 64. Pradeep took 4/31 and combined with veteran quick Lasith Malinga (3/39) to stop the Afghans.

Earlier, Sri Lanka crumbled from 144-1 to 201 all out - a collapse sparked when spinner Mohammed Nabi took three wickets in the 22nd over. Kusal Perera hit 78.

Sri Lanka 201 (Kusal Perera 78, Nabi 4-30) beat Afghanistan 152 (Najibullah 43, Pradeep 4-31, Malinga 3-39) by 34 runs (via DLS method).
