Stokes counter attack props up England: 2nd Test, Day 1 (Leeds)

Allrounder Ben Stokes defied a resurgent West Indies attack by smashing a superb century to revive England.

Stokes posted his sixth Test century, an even 100 off 122 balls, after England slumped to 152-6.

Despite 4 dropped chances, Gabriel and Roach shared 4 scalps each to bowl out England for 258. The Windies resisted for 12 overs to close at 19-1 at stumps.

West Indies 19 for 1 (Brathwaite 13*, Bishoo 1*) trail England 258 (Stokes 100, Root 58, Gabriel 4-51, Roach 4-71) by 239 runs.
