Sunil Narine was born on 26 May 1988 in Trinidad. He is a right arm unorthodox offspinner who made his first class debut in 2009 for Trinidad.
He made his ODI debut for the West Indies in India on the 2011 tour and his T20 debut against Australia in 2012.
Narine has been remarkably successful in the ODI and T20 formats where his variety of mystery deliveries and accuracy dents scoring of big hitting batsman. He made his Test debut against England in Birmingham in 2012 but has not been as successful in the longer format as batsman can block him out rather than attack him.
Narine was twice reported for a suspect action while playing for Kolkata Knight Riders in the Champions League Twenty20 and then banned after being called for a third time against Sri Lanka in Aug 2015. At the time of the ban, he was the number one bowler in the world rankings for one-day and Twenty20 internationals.
In April 2016, the ICC cleared Narine's action just before the start of the ninth edition of Indian Premier League (IPL). He made a successful return to the West Indian team in the Tri Nations ODI series against South Africa and Australia at home in June 2016.
