Ponting and Zaheer trade barbs: 1st Test fallout

A heated exchange of words between paceman Zaheer Khan and Aussie keeper Brad Haddin on the second day kicked started the controversy in the 1st Test the war of words continued after the end of the test with Zaheer pointing to the defensive attitude and the inability the spinners in the Aussie team to dislodge them on a final day pitch tailor made for destructive bowling.

Zaheer had the facts to back up his claim what with the Australians having scored at a just over 2.8 runs per over to reach their first innings total. Ponting reacted angrily in his comments in the post match press conference "I don't know what he meant to tell you the truth. We were the only ones in the game trying to take the game forward. We played aggressive cricket".

Hard hitting words from Zaheer. Ponting looked very defensive in the interview. Mmm, hope the momentum has not changed from Aus to India for the next test.
