Honours even despite Rickelton maiden century: 2nd Test, Day 1 (St George's)

Ryan Rickelton stroked a defiant maiden Test century as South Africa overcame a shaky start on the first day of the second Test against Sri Lanka to be level pegging at stumps.

Sri Lanka struck twice late in the day to pull back the momentum and limit South Africa to 269 for 7.

Earlier, South Africa slumped to 44 for three. Rickelton (101) and skipper Temba Bavuma (78) added 133 for the fourth wicket to rescue the home team.
