Hot Siddle burst puts Aussies on top: 2nd Test, Day 2 (MCG)

South Africa have their backs to the wall in desperate trouble at 7-198 at stumps after rookie paceman Peter Siddle grabbed three vital wickets with an inspired and hostile spell of bowling. He started the slide by claiming skipper Graeme Smith 62.

Recalled spinner Nathan Hauritz 2-49 spun out Kallis and Boucher to leave Australia firmly in control. Earlier Michael Clarke 88 not out worked well with the tail to add 114 runs in the morning session to extend the Aussie total to 394. Dale Steyn took 587.
