Sidhu and Kumble bundle Pak out of cup (1996)

In the clash of the subcontinental rivals India came out on top by 39 runs in a tense and hard fought quarter final.

The game started with controversy as skipper Wasim Akram pulled out prior to the start due to a rib injury. Sidhu 93 powered the Indian total to 287-8. Pakistan were always behind the asking rate as they ended at 2489 with Kumble taking 3-48.
