Dhoni and Gambhir deliver World Cup glory: 2011 World Cup Final (Mumbai)
Mahendra Dhoni smashed an unbeaten 91 as India beat Sri Lanka by six wickets in an exciting final to deliver World Cup glory to their cricket-mad population for the first time since 1983.
Earlier, Mahela Jayawardena struck 103 not out as Sri Lanka posted a strong 274-6.
India 277 for 4 (Gambhir 97, Dhoni 91*) beat Sri Lanka 274 for 6 (Jayawardene 103*, Sangakkara 48) by six wickets. 2011 World Cup Final (Mumbai).
