Series recap: Indians celebrate historic whitewash, Aussies lick wounds (2013)

India completed a historic 4-0 series whitewash, its first ever in 81 years of Test cricket after winning the fourth Test by six wickets.

It was the final humiliation on a tour that has seen four Australian players scolded like schoolchildren for not doing their homework and similarly shamed for their on-field performances. Shane Watson was under increasing pressure to hold his spot for the Ashes tour.

Man of the series Ravi Ashwin's 29 wickets for the series surpassed the record set by Anil Kumble (27) in 2004-05 whilst Murali Vijay (430 at 61), Cheteshwar Pujara (419 at 83) and Dhoni (326 at 78) outscored the Australians whose only real contributor was Michael Clarke (286 at 47.6).
