Last ditch stand falls short: MCG Ashes Test Match (1982-83)

On the final morning of the test Allan Border and Jeff Thomson had added 70 for the last wicket to leave Australia four short of their target. Enter Ian Botham he summoned one final effort to find the edge of Thomson's bat. Tavare at first slip spilt the ball into the air but as 40000 MCG hearts leapt into mouths Geoff Miller grabbed the catch to win one of the great Test matches. 4th Test AusEng 1982.
