Allrounder Moeen has England on top: 1st Test, Day 2 (Cardiff)

Moeen Ali scored 77 and took two important wickets as England gained the upper hand. England’s last three wickets added 87 to their overnight total at more than six runs an over.

In reply, Rogers made 95 but Australia slipped to 264-5 as Moeen removed Steve Smith and Michael Clarke.

Australia 264 for 5 (Watson 29*, Lyon 6*) trail England 430 (Root 134, Moeen 77, Ballance 61, Stokes 52, Starc 5-114) by 166 runs.
