Samuels, Brathwaite snatch cup for Windies: 2016 WT20 Final ENG v WIN (Kolkata)

The dancing began on the pitch as a sea of maroon swarmed the square after Carlos Brathwaite hit four consecutive sixes off the last over from Ben Stokes to win the 2016 T20 World Cup for the West Indies.

After stumbling to 11-3 whilst chasing a tricky target of 156, it was Marlon Samuels that was the man of the match. He hit a magnificent 85 not out off 66 balls to ensure a repeat of their 2012 cup glory.

Earlier, Joe Root smashed 54 as England posted 155-9. After an amazing final, this was a fine result for West Indies cricket which has struggled so much in recent years.

England 155-9 (20 overs): Root 54, Buttler 36, Brathwaite 3-23 lost to West Indies 161-6 (19.4 overs): Samuels 85*, Brathwaite 34*, Willey 3-20.
