Ashwin delivers crushing innings win: 1st Test, Day 4 (Antigua)

Ravichandran Ashwin (7-83) completed a magnificent all-round performance with seven wickets and 113 to bowl India to a crushing victory by an innings and 92 runs against the West Indies.

Resuming their second innings on 21 for one, the West Indies were dismissed for 231 in another poor batting display on a good pitch. Only half-centuries by Marlon Samuels and Carlos Brathwaite and a ninth-wicket stand of 95 between Brathwaite and Devendra Bishoo (45) delayed the innings win for India.

India 566 for 8 decl. (Kohli 200, Ashwin 113, Dhawan 84, Mishra 53) beat West Indies 243 (K Brathwaite 74, Yadav 4-41, Shami 4-66) and (f/o) 231 (C Brathwaite 51*, Samuels 50, Ashwin 7-83) by an innings and 92 runs.
