Starc, Warner give Aussies the upperhand: 1st Test, Day 1 (Perth)

David Warner (73 not out) took to the South African pace attack to put the Aussies in total command.

Earlier, Mitchell Starc took 4/71 as Australia knocked South Africa over for 242. Quinton de Kock made an impressive 84 off 101 balls and Temba Bavuma (51) rescued the visitors after a shaky start.

Australia 0 for 105 (Warner 73*, S Marsh 29*) trail South Africa 242 (De Kock 84, Bavuma 51, Starc 4-71, Hazlewood 3-70) by 137 runs.
