Root fires England to big win: 2017 CT ENG v BAN (Oval)

Tamim Iqbal's 128 was in vain as Joe Root smashed 133 not out to help England run down Bangladesh's imposing 305 with ease.

England won by eight wickets with 16 balls remaining. Eoin Morgan made 75 not out from 61 balls as England pulled off the biggest run-chase in Champions Trophy history.

Earlier, the fine hundred from Tamim and fast start was wasted as wickets fell in a clatter late in the innings as Bangladesh decelerated fast to post 305-6.

England 308 for 2 (Root 133*, Hales 95, Morgan 75*) beat Bangladesh 305 for 6 (Tamim 128, Mushfiqur 79) by eight wickets.
