Tharanga shines before SL stumbles: 1st Test, Day 2 (RPS)

Skipper Graeme Cremer's leg-spin and two curious run outs left Sri Lanka reeling at 293-7, still trailing Zimbabwe by 63 runs.

Opening batsman Upul Tharanga gave Sri Lanka an excellent start with a sparkling 71. Chandimal, making his debut as skipper, hit a composed 55 but Sri Lanka fell in a heap to hand the advantage to Zimbabwe.

Sri Lanka 293 for 7 (Tharanga 71, Chandimal 55, Cremer 3-100) trail Zimbabwe 356 (Ervine 160, Herath 5-116) by 63 runs.
