Shoaib shines as Pakistan return home to whitewash SL: 3rd T20 (Lahore)

Veteran allrounder Shoaib Malik was the architect with the bat as his quickfire half-century helped Pakistan crush series Sri Lanka for a 3-0 series whitewash in an emotional return to cricket at home.

Pakistan comfortably won by 36 runs at Gaddafi stadium which was their first home match since Sri Lanka's team bus was attacked near the same venue in March 2009.

Shoaib blasted 51 from 24 balls as a rampaging Pakistan piled on 180-3 in their 20 overs.

In reply, only Dasun Shanaka batted with aggression during a 36-ball 54 with five boundaries and three sixes before he became one of Faheem Ashraf's two wickets. Amir took 4-13 as Sri Lanka limped to 144-9.

Pakistan 180 for 3 (Malik 51, Amin 45) beat Sri Lanka 144 for 9 (Shanaka 54, Amir 4-13) by 36 runs.
