Dhawan, Rohit blast Kiwis with record stand: 1st T20 (Delhi)

A record opening partnership between Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan powered India to a 53-run win over New Zealand.

Dhawan and Sharma both smashed 80 each as they put on 158 - a record opening stand for India. Virat Kohli (26 not out off 11 balls) and Mahendra Singh Dhoni (7 not out) guided India to an imposing 202-3 with their power hitting.

Ashish Nehra, in his last match, finished with the figures of 0 for 29 as New Zealand limped to 149-8.

India 202 for 3 (Dhawan 80, Rohit 80) beat New Zealand 149 for 8 (Latham 39) by 53 runs.
