Chandimal, Sandakan star as SL edge out Proteas: Only T20 (RPS)

Sri Lanka secured a narrow three-wicket win over South Africa after their trio of spinners dismissed the tourists for their lowest score in the T20 format.

Left-arm wrist-spinner Lakshan Sandakan took three for 19 and fellow spinners Dhananjaya de Silva and Akila Dananjaya took two wickets each to bowl out South Africa for their lowest T20 score of 98.

Kagiso Rabada knocked over both Sri Lankan openers in the first over but Dhananjaya De Silva (31) and Chandimal (36 not out) delivered a thrilling win in front of a capacity crowd.

Sri Lanka 99 for 7 v (Chandimal 36*, de Silva 31, Dala 2-22, Rabada 2-24, Shamsi 2-26) beat South Africa 98 (de Kock 20, Sandakan 3-19, Akila 2-15, de Silva 2-22) by three wickets.
