Buttler props up England after collapse: 4th Test, Day 3 (Southampton)

Jos Buttler's 69 enabled England to put up a fighting 260 for 8 in their second innings after another top order batting collapse.

England had crumbled to 122-5 when Buttler worked in tandem with Ben Stokes (30, 110 balls) adding 56 runs for the sixth wicket and 55 runs for the seventh wicket with young all rounder Sam Curran (37 batting, 67 balls) to ensure England posted 260-8 at stumps.

Paceman Shami took 3-53 to leave the Test match delicately poised.

England 246 and 260 for 8 (Buttler 69, Curran 36*) lead India 273 by 233 runs.
