Buttler, paceman have England in control: 5th Test, Day 2 (Oval)

Jos Buttler's gritty 89 sparked England’s fightback from a precarious 181-7 to post 332 against India.

Buttler put on 98 runs for the ninth wicket with Stuart Broad (38) to rescue England.

India were sitting comfortably at 94-2 when Jimmy Anderson and Stuart Broad returned for a second spell that tore the heart out of the Indian top order.

Ben Stokes then took 2 late wickets to leave India on the ropes at 174-6.

India 174 for 6 (Kohli 49, Vihari 25*, Anderson 2-20) trail England 332 (Buttler 89, Cook 71, Moeen 50, Jadeja 4-79, Ishant 3-62, Bumrah 3-83) by 158 runs

Sept 2018.
