England on top despite Jadeja fightback: 5th Test, Day 3 (Oval)

Allrounder Ravindra Jadeja (86 not out) added 32 for the 10th wicket with last man Jasprit Bumrah as India, who found themselves 160-6 posted 292 all out.

India were rescued by debutant Hanuma Vihari (56) and Jadeja (86 not out) but England extended their dominance.

Alastair Cook's hopes of scoring a fairy-tale century in his final Test knock remained on course as he hit an unbeaten 46 as England closed on 114-2.

England 332 and 114 for 2 (Cook 46*, Root 29*) lead India 292 (Jadeja 86*, Vihari 56, Moeen 2-50, Anderson 2-54, Stokes 2-56) by 154 runs.
