Opener Usman Khawaja stood tall as he struck a fighting century to secure an unlikely draw against Pakistan in the first Test match.
Chasing a target of 462 runs, Australians ended at 362 for 8 with skipper Tim Paine defiant on 61 not out at the end.
Khawaja hit spectacular knock of 141 lasted 524 mintues, facing 302 balls and hitting 11 boundaries. This was the second longest fourth innings in the history of cricket after England’s Mike Atherton’s stay at the wicket for 645 minutes against South Africa at Johannesburg in 1995.
