Burns, Head thrash Sri Lanka after early scare: 2nd Test, Day 1 (Canberra)

In the inaugural Test played at Manuka Oval, Joe Burns (172 not out) and Travis Head (161) guided Australia to a mammoth 384-4 after a shaky start.

After Vishwa Fernando (3-99) helped reduce Australia to 28-3, the hosts galloped at 4.41 runs per over to dominate Sri Lanka's bowlers.

The Sri Lankan fielders spilled 4 easy chances as Burns and Head proceeded to pile on the runs in a 308-run partnership for the fourth wicket.

Australia 384-4 (Burns 172*, Head 161, Patterson 25*) v Sri Lanka.
