Sri Lanka win series after Avishka fireworks: 2nd ODI (RPS)

Rookie opener Avishka Fernando hit a quick-fire half-century as Sri Lanka cruised to a seven-wicket win over Bangladesh in the second one-day international to seal the three-match series.

Fernando made 82 off just 75 balls and Angelo Mathews hit 52 not out as Sri Lanka reached 242-3 in 44.4 overs to win the series 2-0.

Earlier, Bangladesh were restricted to 238-8, despite Mushfiqur Rahim making an unbeaten 98.

Sri Lanka 242 for 3 (Avishka 82, Mathews 52*, Kusal Mendis 41*, Mustafizur 2-50) beat Bangladesh 238 for 8 (Mushfiqur 98*, Mehidy 43, Dananjaya 2-39, Pradeep 2-53, Udana 2-58) by seven wickets.
