Mathews leads 3-0 whitewash of Bangladesh: 3rd ODI (RPS)
Former skipper Angelo Mathews struck 87 as Sri Lanka won the last ODI against Bangladesh to whitewash the series 3-0.
On a slow pitch, Mathews anchored the hosts' innings masterfully, making 87 out of 294 for eight.
In reply, Soumya Sarkar hit 69. Kasun Rajitha took 2-17 from his five overs, while fellow seamer Dasun Shanaka reduced the middle order to rubble as Bangladesh were dismissed for 172.
This was Sri Lanka's first series win at home since June 2016.
Sri Lanka 294 for 8 (Mathews 87, Kusal Mendis 54, Soumya 3-56, Shafiul 3-68) beat Bangladesh 172 (Soumya 69, Shanaka 3-27, Rajitha 2-17) by 122 runs.
