Kiwis thrash SL by innings after Latham, Watling star: 2nd Test (PSS)

New Zealand's pace bowlers put on an outstanding performance to bundle out Sri Lanka for 122 in the second innings, as the visitors registered an emphatic win by an innings and 65 runs to level the two-match series.

In the first innings, Sri Lanka struggled to 244 thanks to Dhananjaya De Silva's composed 109.

After opener Tom Latham struck 154, BJ Watling found able support in Tim Southee, who scored a whirlwind 10-ball 24*. The visitors declared at 431/6, having added 49 off just five overs on the final morning.

Sri Lanka crumbled to 122 all out as Southee (2-15) and Boult (2-17) did the damage.

New Zealand 431 for 6 dec (Latham 154, Watling 105*, de Grandhomme 83, Dilruwan 3-114) beat Sri Lanka 244 ( De Silva 109, Karunaratne 65, Southee 4-63, Boult, 3-75) and 122 (Dickwella 51, Southee 2-15, Boult 2-17) by an innings and 65 runs.
