Smith was the difference in Ashes win

In the final analysis, Steve Smith’s batting was the difference as Australia beat England to go 2-1 ahead in the series to retain the Ashes.

England fought until the final hour in their attempt to save the 4th Test.

Australia now look ahead with renewed confidence to the 5th Test to win the series on English soil for the first time since 2001.
