Southee rips thru India to seal crushing 10 wicket win: 1st Test, Day 4 (Wellington)

Tim Southee took 5-61 as New Zealand completed a comprehensive 10-wicket victory over India before lunch.

India folded tamely for 191 after starting at 144-4.

Following his 4/49 in the first innings, Southee took four wickets on the final day's play to finish with 5/61 in the second, giving him match figures of 9/110.

Openers Tom Blundell (1) and Tom Latham (7) got NZ home in just 10 balls to seal the Blackcap's 100th test win and deliver the first loss to India in the ICC Test championship to date.

New Zealand 348 (Williamson 89, Taylor 44, Jamieson 44, Sharma 5-68, Ashwin 3-99) and 9 for 0 beat India 165 (Rahane 46, Jamieson 4-39, Southee 4-49) and 191 (Agarwal 58, Southee 5-61, Boult 4-39) trail by 10 wickets.
