Boult hits back after Shami bowls out NZ: 2nd Test, Day 2 (Christchurch)

Left arm quick Trent Boult's class left India reeling with a slender lead of 97 runs at stumps on day two.

Earlier, starting at 63-0, NZ were bowled out for 235 in reply to India's 242 in the first innings. Shami took 4-81 to give India a narrow lead of 7.

Openers Prithvi Shaw (13) and Mayank Agarwal (3) offered little resistance, while captain Virat Kohli’s struggles with the bat continued as Boult took 3-12 to send India crashing to 90-6 at stumps.

India 242 and 90 for 6 (Boult 3-12) lead New Zealand 235 (Latham 52, Jamieson 49, Shami 4-81, Bumrah 3-62) by 97 runs.
