Pandya, Bumrah deliver consolation win after Aussie collapse: 3rd ODI (Canberra)

Allrounder Hardin Pandya was the star as India avoided a dreaded 3-0 sweep at the hands of Australia in the ODI series.

After a middle order stutter, India posted competitive first innings score of 5-302 due to a brilliant unbeaten 150-run stand between man of the match Hardik Pandya (92 not out) and Ravindra Jadeja (66 not out).

In reply, Glenn Maxwell struck a rapid fifty but Shardul Thakur (3/51) and debutant Thangarasu Natarajan (2/70 in 10 overs) did their bit. Spearhead Jasprit Bumrah’s (2/43 in 9.3 overs) controlled effort at the death to choke Australia.

India 5 for 302 (Pandya 92*, Jadeja 66*, Kohli 63, Agar 2-44) beat Australia 289 (Finch 75, Maxwell 59, Thakur 3-51, Bumrah 2-43) by 13 runs.
