Record Sundar, Thakur stand frustrates Aussies: 4th Test, Day 3 (Gabba)

Rookies Washington Sundar (62) and Shardul Thakur (67) frustrated Australia as they stitched together a hundred-run partnership, which is the all-time highest seventh-wicket stand for India in Gabba.

Batting for 36 overs, Sundar and Thakur posted 123 runs which surpassed former skipper Kapil Dev and Manoj Prabhakar partnership of 58 runs in 1991.

Sundar also broke a 110-year old record in Test matches in Australia. His 62 is the highest score by a visiting player batting at No.7 on debut in Australia.

Australia 369 and 21 for 0 lead India 336 (Thakur 67, Sundar 62, Hazlewood 5-57) by 54 runs.
