Pant knocks out Aussies in stunning comeback: 4th Test, Day 5 (Gabba)

In one of the finest away wins, India pulled off an astonishing run-chase to inflict Australia's first defeat at the Gabba since 1988, to take one of the all-time great series.

Rookie Shubman Gill made 91 and Rishabh Pant was the star in the chase (89 not out) as India ran down a stiff target of 328 with just 19 balls remaining in the deciding Test match.

Pat Cummins (4-55) was a threat throughout, removing Rahane and Rohit Sharma but Pujara (56) resisted him for long enough to enable Pant’s heroics to deliver the historic series win.

India 329 for 7 (Gill 91, Pant 89*, Pujara 56, Cummins 4-55) and 336 beat Australia 369 and 294 by three wickets.
