Rohit century defies England: 2nd Test, Day 1 (Chennai)

Opener Rohit Sharma notched up his seventh Test century (161) as he took the England bowlers to the cleaners in the ongoing second Test of the four-match series.

Rohit's 162-run partnership with Ajinkya Rahane (67) dragged the hosts back into the contest after they were struggling at 86-3 prior to lunch.

England’s spinners dismissed both in the final session of the day. Rishabh Pant was unbeaten on 33 at stumps, with debutant Axar Patel on five at the other end.
