Pollard six blitz hammers SL: 1st T20 (Coolidge)

Skipper Kieron Pollard completed the perfect set, blasting six sixes in an all-time brutal counterpunch for the hosts.

He is only the third person to ever achieve the feat in international cricket, joining Herschelle Gibbs and Yuvraj Singh.

Dananjaya dismissed Evin Lewis, Chris Gayle and Nicholas Pooran with consecutive balls in his second over, becoming only the 15th player (and fourth Sri Lankan) to take a T20 international hat-trick.

Pollard's blitz ensured the West Indies' had an easy chase to take a 1-0 lead in the series.

Earlier, Sri Lanka managed only 9-131 in its 20 overs after being sent in to bat. The tourists had been 3-86 but fell apart after a short rain break and lost six wickets for 45 runs.

West Indies 134 for 6 (Pollard 38, Hasaranga 3-12) beat Sri Lanka 131 for 9 (Nissanka 39, McCoy 2-25) by four wickets.
