Potts, Anderson skittle NZ before late collapse: 1st Test, Day 1 (Lords)

New skipper Ben Stokes and new coach Brendon McCullum got off to a chaotic start in the series against New Zealand.

Debutant paceman Matthew Potts and the recalled James Anderson exploited with four wickets apiece. Colin de Grandhomme's 42 not out rescued the Black Caps from 45-7, with the last three wickets adding 87 runs.

England started brightly with a 59-run opening stand between Zak Crawley (43) and Alex Lees (25). The home team then lost seven wickets for 41 runs, including five for eight runs, before closing 16 runs in arrears. 

England 116 for 7 (Foakes 6*, Broad 4*) trail New Zealand 132 (de Grandhomme 42*, Potts 4-13, Anderson 4-66) by 16 runs
