Shamsi stops Windies, guides South Africa to semis: 2024 T20 World Cup (Antigua)

In a virtual knock out, left arm spinner Tabraiz Shamsi guided South Africa to a semi-final berth after a tense three-wicket win on the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method over co-hosts West Indies.

Allrounder Roston Chase made 52 and Mayers chipped in with 35 to rescue the Windies as Shamsi (3/27) led the Proteas attack in reducing the home team to 135-8.

Chasing a DLS revised target of 123, South Africa wobbled at times but ultimately withstood the pressure and Marco Jansen thumped a six to seal the win with five balls to spare.

South Africa 124 for 7 (Stubbs 29, Klaasen 22, Jansen 21*, Chase 3-12) beat West Indies 135 for 8 (Chase 52, Mayers 35, Shamsi 3-27) by three wickets via DLS method.
