Jansen, Shamsi demolish Afghanistan to reach final: 2024 T20 World Cup SF (

South Africa demolished Afghanistan, thrashing the minnows by nine wickets with more than 11 overs to spare to reach their first final.

Marco Jansen did the early damage as the Afghanis slumped to 28-6. Spinner Tabraiz Shamsi mopped up the tail with 3-6 and Jansen finished with 3-16 as Afghanistan were bundled out for just 56 on a dicey pitch.

Opener Reeza Hendricks (29 not out) and captain Aiden Markram (23 not out) saw them to victory at 60 for one off 8.5 overs.

Afghanistan's 56 all-out is the lowest total in a T20 World Cup semi-final match.

South Africa 60 for 1 (Hendricks 29*, Farooqi 1-11) beat Afghanistan 56 (Omarzai 10, Shamsi 3-6, Jansen 3-16) by nine wickets.
