Haseeb Hameed: Shining Test Debut at 19 Years

Haseeb Hameed was born on 17 January 1997 in Bolton, Lancashire to parents who had migrated from Gujarat, India. He is a right handed opening batsman who showed early promise and was selected for England U-17 and U-19 teams. 

Haseeb made his first-class debut for Lancashire against Glamorgan in August 2015. Following an excellent 2016 County season for Lancashire, Hameed was a surprise selection on the winter tour to Bangladesh and India.

Hameed made his Test debut in the 1st Test against India at Rajkot in Nov 2016. He became only the 3rd teenager to score a fifty on debut for England.
